The Lighthouse🗣
🎥 A couple of days ago I saw a Chinese movie titled "Shock wave", in the movie there was a crime scene in which a bomb was strapped to the body of a young policeman who happened to be a hostage to some terrorists who had about four hundred more hostages. The young policeman was sent to the midst of his other colleagues and many onlookers with the timer counting down. He had some choices; either to let the bomb detonate in the midst of his colleagues and the onlookers, or to go back to the midst of the terrorists and the other hostages killing them all, or to stay where he'll be alone and thereby be the only casualty. Whatever choice he makes will have a lasting effect physically or emotionally on other people. What choice do you think he made? Back to the topic.

🗼A lighthouse is a tower topped by a powerful light used as a beacon to warn and guide ships. Therefore, a lighthouse is something people who are lost or who don't want to get lost can look towards for guidance. The interesting factor about this structure is that the light goes off in the day and comes on at night. What do you think will happen if on a particular day something contrary happens?
💡Truth be told, God is our always illuminating Lighthouse but you can also agree that He would not come down here but has given each of us brains and and other basic necessities we need to navigate our stay on this planet. Then the most important marker will be our CHOICES.
👴Our choices define us in the end, but the truth is does it define "you" only? The point is, we all are lighthouses to one another based on our choices. Many people have the notion that it's their life, they can live it however they wish but some other lives might be attached to that life of yours and if you make a wrong choice, you might as well have derailed another life. For instance, if a father smokes, there is every tendency that the son will follow suit, but smoking was a choice the father single-handedly made. If the lighthouse made a choice not to illuminate at night many ships will get lost.
🕯 We should have it in our minds that someone might get their source of inspiration from us without us knowing. Sometimes people get to the point they get to because you decided to shine your own light. Marilyn Monroe said, "As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others the permission to do the same". Imagine someone meeting a celebrity he or she truly adores in person for the first time, there has to be something that made him or her adore that celebrity which were the celebrity's personal choices to make it to the top without knowing that the choice has inspired someone else. The moment it is discovered that the celebrity got that level of achievement through the back door if care isn't taken, he or she might have caused another life to have setback.
⏳Your choices might be the reason people change from bad to worse or bad to good. Might be the reason someone has hope. There was a scenario in which an American man said his perspective about Africans changed when he got close to a particular African man. The reason is simple, the African man made a choice to lead an exemplary life. Your choice might be the reason that boy choose to stay in school or choose to drop out. Many a mathematics genius credit their prowess to teachers "who made a choice to make the subject look easy". An older brother or sister ought to consider his or her choices not only for themselves but also because of their younger siblings. Trust me, they are watching.
🔭If those three Nigerian friends hadn't made a choice to create a website called Jobberman, some people in Nigeria might still be looking for jobs. If Mark Zuckerburg hadn't made the decision to create Facebook, maybe so many contacts might have been lost forever. If Dr. Ben Carson hadn't made the choice to study really hard, maybe craniopagus twins might have never been separated. If the Wright brothers hadn't made a choice to dedicate their lives to study, maybe there wouldn't have been any aeroplanes across the sky to transport people and goods. If Graham Bell hadn't made a good choice, maybe we will still be communicating via letters only and not telephone. Also remember, if God hadn't made a choice to create humans, we wouldn't have even been here. Our choices can directly or indirectly affect other people, it can give them life or death.
📝P.S: Remember you are a lighthouse and your choice to shine your own light will directly or indirectly give other people the permission to do the same. That child on the street you meet everyday selling goods while you run off to work or school might be looking up to you, endeavour to make a good choice.
📝P.S: The young Chinese policeman I wrote about in the first paragraph chose to stay where he'll be alone for the bomb to detonate, he died alone thereby saving so many other lives. Your choices are not only yours, they have far more reaching effects than you know. Make A Wise Choice Today, Be A Good Lighthouse!
