A player or a spectator🔮
I was born on a Thursday, in a part of the country where the sun never sets nor rises. My natal hour will return in a couple of days and I'll be left with the remainder of my years. My cup is getting filled, now at its quarter I believe. As we continue to navigate this planet, it's apparent that life is best lived with beings you love and love you in return. At the moment of penning this musing, only three things are germane; my notepad, my pen and me. No, flip that part, it's actually; my phone, my keypad and me. These tools make writers who they are, let me tell you what I mean.
In any sport, there are two main groups of people, players (who get paid) and spectators (who cheer players on). Life itself have these two sets of people. People who get involved and work their socks off (players), and people who trail the first set of people (spectators). My younger brother taught me indirectly that progress rarely comes from those who are content and secure, it comes from those who are unsettled by what they have seen. This is true because every champion knows that mental game is key and you must be actively involved.
In football, every player knows that they have to keep their eyes on the goal. No player roams the pitch with their focus fixated on the score board. The greatest players know that all titans are targets, therefore, they won't want to get carried away thereby tripping. Myriads of employees work as ghosts in their work place claiming they don't want to be noticed. I hope they won't be offended if that promotion isn't granted because they've been working as a spectator. I am certain that a chequered lifestyle will only keep one dormant. The French would say, "cest la vie" which translates to "that's life". That's not life, it's an unchecked lifestyle which deteriorates the value of every human.
I remember as an undergraduate one of my mentors told me, "if five people have to be selected in your class for anything worthwhile make sure you are among". That has always stuck to my mental faculty because truth be told, darkness cannot bring light into a dark room.
Where people stumble make sure you strive to survive even if it takes you going in headfirst. Truth is the only safe ground to stand upon; I've lived that life and it's really not worth it. My renaissance was a game changer for me and I'll strive to maintain my acquired lifestyle and improve constantly. The game is binary, you won't be rewarded for having a brain, you would only be rewarded for using it.
We look at heroes from all corners of the world winning and not backing down. The truth is that heroes often fail but refuse to be spectators, they always pick a vantage point. Most times they play for your admiration, because no one will remember your name as a spectator. Its high time you left the monotone trend of thought and embrace the Polychrome. If not, you would get your heart broken in less than a day, you won't get to live life on your own terms.
It is said that up from the ashes grows the roses of success. You should endeavour to bring all the good things out in you because even the minutest of things can give you purpose and direction. And above all, don't lose hope, take life one day at a time. Make sure you aren't just watching, you should be a part of the process and cheer yourself on. Carry your throne, yes I mean that, carry your throne. Fold a woollen cloth as a head pad and carry your throne with pride; because when feeling is gone, you may just not get it back. Have the courage to be a player in this game of life, play as well as you can and improve at your pace, this gives you a sense of healing.
P.S: I am a denizen of the death bed mentality. On that day, you don't want to reminisce about how you gambled through life. You want to sincerely ask yourself one question; did you live your life as a player or a spectator?
