Children in same new clothes🗣
☯Question for higher power: If you had a choice, would you want to grow old or rather stay forever young? Anyway, it is a rhetorical question because we don't really have a choice. As long as we are alive we are all subjected to the natural phenomenon called "aging". However, some people age with Grace while some don't, and the only thing both parties have at the end of the day will be memories of their juvenile years or memories they created while they had the chance.
👘Life is a highway and nobody gets out alive except you are a reincarnation of the biblical Enoch and Elijah. Life is in moments and we should all endeavour to make good memories. The creatures in my brain were becoming hyperactive and brought the thoughts of my younger years when my cousins, brothers and I would all put on the same type of clothing during any major festivity. We would visit different places in that same attire sometimes looking like those eulogising masquerades, but we gave no care to whatever anyone thinks simply because we were living in the moment. Now it has become a memory and a really good one at that. Life has removed that innocence over the years; most of us don't even like seeing another person in an attire we are putting on. The next time you think like that endeavour to start getting a limited edition of things you want exclusively😁.
👬There is a Yoruba adage which translates to, "twenty kids cannot keep being together for twenty years". Therefore, it's important we try to seize the moment because when tomorrow comes it brings with it it's own freshness. It is better we are filled with the thoughts of what is at hand than ruminating on the things we missed while we had the chance. If we track back memory lane as pupils in primary schools, students in secondary schools or undergraduates in tertiary institutions we can remember when strangers begin to feel like they are our own blood. We do things together, form a lasting bond, begin to feel like we have added a full stop to life with them. Then one day, time elapses, it changes our pointers into different directions and the only thing we get to have at our disposal are the memories created. Will we remember and smile, frown or have mixed reactions?
🚎Lastly, the fragments of our imaginations might think we create memories with only those we have made an acquaintance with. Travelling in a public transportation also does it sometimes especially when seated close to someone your age, having a funny driver, a passenger who decides to create a scene because his or her bowels gets filled up out of eating and drinking too much etc. Also, when they sing let your voice be heard even in its "froggy"😁 state. It's your chance to be your own Onyeka Owenu or King sunny Ade, so that at least you will know that before you grow old and probably loose your teeth you sang and had an audience who wouldn't judge you but might laugh at your pain😁.
P.S: Even as life brings its hustle and bustle, we should endeavour to stop sometimes, relax, create lasting memories, help people as little as we can, be productive and be happy because like Ratan Tata said, "we are humans and not programmed devices".
